In October 2006 Advance Housing, Inc. celebrated its 10th Anniversary.  The evening was proud to honor Marty and Nancy Willick, inaugural Recipients of the Advance Housing Founders Award.

Dr. Martin (Marty) Willick, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, organized the First Schizophrenia Conference at Columbia University in 1985 and directed it for 20 years.  The conference is unique in that it is designed for consumers, family members, and professionals.  Dr. Willick is a lecturer in Psychiatry at Columbia’s College of Physicians and  Surgeons.  His private practice is located in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Mrs. Nancy Willick, the former Bergen County Community Mental Health Administrator, is the founder and the first Executive Director of Advance Housing.  Mrs. Willick currently serves the agency as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

Sponsoring the successful event were Bergen Regional Medical Center, Nashel, Kates, Nussman, Rapone & Ellis LLP, and The Peterson Foundation.
